Formed in 1992 by Roy & Carol Gardner Hire Tools & Sales Ltd are an established family run business based in Birmingham. Starting from humble beginnings the company now has 12 employees and operates from our large bespoke depot located in central Birmingham. The companies core value is WE CARE and we aim to provide our customers with a First Class service. Our first class service promise starts form the moment we answer the phone and lasts until we collect the equipment from site at the end of the hire.

Specialising in the MEP sector we offer a vast range of products for hire or purchase to meet your requirements. We pride ourselves on the high standard of the equipment within our hire fleet and we are constantly investing in our fleet to keep it up to date and adding new products.  With over 35 years of industry knowledge and expertise our staff are always on hand to assist with any enquiry you may have.

With a fleet of 9 vehicles we offer a nationwide delivery service from our central Birmingham depot. We aim to meet your delivery requirements and pride ourselves on being on site when we say we will.

Alan Moseley
Delivery Driver

Alan has been with the company since 2020 which is his second term of employment with after originally joining us in 2012. 

Alan supports Aston Villa and his favorite motto is “i will get it done”

Matthew Casey
Delivery Driver

Matthew is our longest serving delivery driver and has been with the company since 2012.

Matthew supports Aston Villa and is a massive Bruce Springsteen fan

Wayne has been with the company since 2018

Wayne is the company comedian and his sense of humour keeps us all entertained

Wayne is our newest employee only joining the company in December 2022.

Wayne supports Wolverhampton Wanderers and enjoys weekends away in his camper van

Paul joined the company in 2019. Paul loves football and also having a bet on it. Paul supports Man Utd

Craig has been with the company 2011

Craig works tirelessly to keep the hire fleet available for hire. Craig is an Aston Villa fan who loves cooking and entertaining

Hire Desk Controller

Adrian has been with the company since 2019. Adrian has worked for many of the national hire companies and has a vast knowledge of pipework equipment. Adrian is a West Brom fan.

Graham Knowles
Depot Manager

Graham has been with the company since 1999

Graham has an unbelievable knowledge of the industry and their isn’t anything he cant fix. Graham is a Birmingham city fan

Sophie Gardner
Accounts admin

Sophie joined the company in 2019 and assists with accounting and admin duties. Sophie enjoys music and loves going to gigs.

Lee Gardner
Director

Joining the company in 2003 as a driver Lee is now responsible for the day to day running of the company. Lee is a Birmingham City fan and loves playing football and golf.

Roy Gardner
managing director

Having founded the company in 1992 starting as a man in a van taking orders and delivering tools at the same time. Roy has proudly built the company to what it is today. Roy now works 1 day a week and enjoys spending time in Weymouth where he also volunteers in the local cancer research shop.

In Memory Of Carol Gardner 13/01/1961 – 17/12/20

Carol was co-founder of the business alongside her husband Roy. Carol was the company secretary and looked after the company accounts.

Carol was instrumental in supporting Roy in both the growth and the success of the business. Taken far to soon Carol is sorely missed by all the team and customers alike.

As a mark of respect Roy & Lee completed the great North Run in Carols memory raising vital funds for Cancer Research. The company continues to support Cancer research in their fight against Cancer
